Last Race of 2010

On Sat Nite the #67 South Coast Construction/Gooney's Sports Bar/Oregon Tool& Supply
Rocket Dirt latemodel competed at the fast Coosbay Speedway in the season ending 100 lap
Open Competition Race that brought some of the fastest dirt latemodels in the northwest
to one of the fastest tracks on the West Coast. The #67 Gooney's Sports bar/ AT Collier Contracting/Oregon Tool Rocket piloted by Mike "The Hammer" George was ready for action,
after racing on the pavement in Eureka, Ca the week before the SouthCoast/ Gooney's Sports Bar crew went to work and got the #67 Rocket serviced and repaired to compete in this prestigious event. With a near sellout crowd on hand the #67 Southcoast Construction/ MHK Plumbing Rocket was in the top 10 on the speed charts in practice, after a few minor changes the #67 Rocket was ready for qualifying. The "Hammer" would qualify the #67 Oregon Tool/Collier Contracting Rocket in the 9th position. In the heat race the #67 Rocket would start
in the last position and move up to the 3rd spot at the halfway point and finish there. The #67 Gooney's Crew made some minor changes to the Rocket chassis before the 100 Lap main event
as this was the longest race of the season for some of the competitors, as attrition will be a factor the equipment has to be ready for the task at hand. The Main Event got started and on the 2nd lap the #67 Southcoast/Gooney's rocket was involved in a on track altercation with another car and had to go to the back and Mike "The Hammer" George would have to work his to the front, but it was along race and the #67 Rocket had sustained no damage in the altercation. As the race went along their were several cautionsin the 1st 40 laps of the race, that allowed the #67 Oregon Tool/MHK Plumbing Rocket to move forward and in to the top 10.
At lap 38 a Red Flag flew for and accident out of turn 2 and the officials decided to have the halfway break at this time, the #67 Gooney's Sports Bar/AT Collier Contracting Rocket was in the 7th position ansd ready to get going for the last 60laps. The race restarted went almost caution free as the #67 Rocket and Driver Mike "The Hammer" George would come to the finish line in the 5th position and put a exclamation point on a very successful 2010 racing season. Mike and The Crew would like to once again thank all the sponsors who help make
